About the Place
Pinolandia West Palm Beach stands as a beacon of authentic Nicaraguan cuisine nestled at 1290 N Military Trl, West Palm Beach, Florida. This culinary gem brings a taste of traditional fritanga culture to the region, offering dishes that resonate with both locals and aficionados of Central American flavors. As a longtime fan of robust, well-prepared red meat, I found the Carne Asada con Queso (Completa) to be a standout—generous in portion and deeply satisfying with its tender, expertly grilled beef. The balance of flavors here is both comforting and rich, though, like some patrons, I would welcome a bit more sweetness from plantains to complement the savory depth.
The vibrant combination of gallo pinto, sweet maduros, and fried cheese highlights the craftsmanship behind the kitchen’s offerings. These sides elevate the meal, showcasing the textural and taste contrasts that define traditional Nicaraguan fare. It's clear that Pinolandia is mindful of quality and authenticity, sourcing ingredients and preparing plates that echo the roots of this beloved cuisine. Despite some minor service pacing, especially during peak hours, the staff consistently deliver friendly and informative interactions, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Located away from the Nicaraguan food hubs of Miami-Dade, Pinolandia West Palm Beach fills a rare niche in Palm Beach County. Its presence enriches the local food scene with well-executed fritanga classics that bring warmth and familiarity to those craving genuine Central American dishes. While pricing leans toward the higher side—a reflection of the quality and specialty ingredients—the culinary payoff validates the occasional indulgence. For those seeking an authentic taste of Nicaragua’s hearty, flavorful staples, Pinolandia West Palm Beach offers an inviting portal to tradition thoughtfully prepared and passionately served.
“ When the red meat cravings hit, the CARNE ASADA CON QUESO (COMPLETA) is a solid go to. VERY generous portions, and the beef has always been a 8.5-10/10 over the years (depending on who's grilling that day). Only thing I'd change would be less rice and more sweet plantains, but l'm not complaining. ”
“ Happy to find Pinolandia in West Palm Beach since we love Nicaraguan food from Miami. Ordered the carne asada plate with maduros, fried cheese, and gallo pinto — everything was excellent, especially the gallo pinto. The place got busy right around noon, clearly a local favorite. Minor hiccup with a delivery pickup, but overall a great meal and experience. ”
“ The food is excellent. The staff are friendly and informative. The place was clean, neat and orderly. I highly recommend it. ”
“ This place ain’t cheap. But the food has gotten a lot better from the past. The meat dish is $19 and the large cacao drink is $8. That’s $27 for a meal. Once is a while may be worth it. But not a regular place to come. At least for me. ”
“ Nn that many Nicaraguan food North of Miami-Dade County and especially all the way to West Palm Beach. This is the third location of Pinolandia I have been to, and the food was good. The service was good, but I had to wait a lot for the food to be ready. Usually, when you go to a fritanga, food is ready to be served, is like a fast food chain, but with real food. ”
